How you can help

Bosley factory incident – how you can help.

Following the explosions and fire at the Wood Flour Mill in Bosley, near Macclesfield, the Council and partner organisations have been providing support to the affected residents, the emergency services and the local parish council.

If you would like to help or show support in some way then the following Q&A should provide you with the answer on how best to do that.

Q: How can I help those affected by the Bosley fire major incident?

A: Anyone who has offers of accommodation, employment or transport etc. for those affected by the terrible events in Bosley should ring the Cheshire East Council hotline on 0300 123 5034.

Q: How can I donate to the families of those affected?

A: There are several routes to donate to the families:
1.The Bosley Disaster Appeal Fund (either by hand or by post);
2.Collection buckets in the community in Bosley;
3.St Mary’s Parish Church collection, in Bosley;
4.A ‘go fund me’ online donation webpage – see below.

Q: What is the easiest way to donate?

A: The easiest and simplest way to donate is via the ‘go fund me’ online site for those affected at Bosley, via the link: www.gofundme.com/znkr4vg or click the ‘Donate’ button on the top menu of this website.

The webpage gives simple instructions to follow.

Q: How much should I give?

A: All donations are very gratefully received by the community and there are no upper or lower limits.

The community as a whole has been profoundly affected and clearly some families and individuals will need substantial support to help them rebuild their lives, homes and livelihoods.

Q: What will happen to donations?

A: All donations will be channelled to a single central fund being overseen by the Bosley Disaster Appeal Fund Committee, the constitution for which will be available shortly.
