The Bosley Disaster Appeal has been given a boost with the news that the fund has now officially been granted charitable status.
Chairman & Founding Trustee Martin Freston commented “The group have all worked very hard to get to this stage and it means that some donors will now be able to make their donations as they will be given that all important charity number. It’s fantastic news to be granted this status as we look to continue with our fundraising efforts to help the people of Bosley overcome this tragedy.”
A charity status has several benefits for fundraising. Many funders, for example, are only allowed to fund charities, or may chose only to do so. Charities can often raise funds from the public, grant-making trusts and local government more easily than non-charities while it also offers the potential for ‘Gift Aid’
The Bosley Disaster Appeal is now registered with the Charity Commission as Registered Charity number 1163397
